According to CNN the Postal Service bought a mansion on Lake Wateree in South Carolina and is selling it for $1.2 million. The original owner had it listed for $3.2 million. While this is going to be a great opportunity for one family, I have to wonder if any stimulas money goes to the Postal Service.

I am a Postal Service employee (anonymous) and see our industry to be top heavy and wasteful at the top line of executives, but terribly oppressive at the real service people on the bottom. This does not hurt the tax payers directly because we are run solely on postal revenues, but it is self destructing just like our current federal government because of such idiotic behaviors as you have revealed. Executives can hire friends to do jobs like create thousands of reports and busywork items for delivery employees and postmasters, then cut real service positions, and budgets for everyday operations. We have no idea what these upline people/positions pay, but do know that substitute postmaster management positions start at a meager $9/ hour to have full responsibility of running the office. There is no recourse or way left to give insight and ideas from the grass roots service sector while this thing falls apart. It looks to be designed failure so that Americans will eventually loose this form of communication just like they may with "fairness doctrine" in radio and tv, our right to bear arms, freedom to travel, giving in to "prosperity act" with Canada and Mexico, and current administration effort to bankrupt the middle class and legally give their assets to the filthy ruich billionaires club. Keep up the good work informing us until they take away your freedom of speech too.

Ainsley talked about it today on Fox & Friends, and she's from the area (like I am; we both went to the same university, and I've been to the church where she attended), so she knows what probably happened. The postmaster in Lexington County was moved to another market, and so they had to pay moving expenses. That was his home, and moving expenses included buying it for sale since the postmaster probably gets moving expenses to buy a new house in the area where he now works.

Post Service needs to go out of business.
DHS, UPS, FedEx, and any other firm that pops up from a dissolution of the US Post can and will much more efficiently do the job IMO. Get rid of the US Postal Service all together.
