I was in the TTM forum and saw this.
http://forums.hannity.com/showthread.php?t=1350421

What exactly is a toxic link?
What should I look for before clicking a link.

I get pointed to a lot of news stories here with links and comments.

Should I always assume that if someone is posting a news link it might damage my computer?

Any tips would be appreciated.

It was a link to a website that took over your browser and did not allow you to shut down the page. You had to Control-Alt-Delete to stop it. No real damage unless you were in the middle of a download or something important since you had to restart your browser to get rid of the offending script.

Either that or run FireFox & the NoScript Add-in to keep those kinds of things from happening.

...or just don't ever click on links of the poster in question, who will remain nameless.

If you run Firefox as your browser, it is an add-on that lets you decide if scripts may run on the website you are viewing.

What is that and what does it do?No Script tells you in advance if something on the webpage is trying to run a script (command) on your system. You can choose to run it or not. It is a pain at first since you have to tell it what pages are okay but that doesn't take long.

Even on a safe page such as this, it is blocking 4 ads from showing up.

not to be a complete idiot and if you don't mind I'm always looking for new things to learn.

Can you give a short run down about scripts?
If it is too complex to spill out in the time you have available, can you point me in a direction wherein I might be able to get a "user" level understanding?
