I have an idea: Don't live near a pig farm.
OR
Have the pig farmers do the research themselves. Why do I have to pay for someone in IA to not have smelly pigs next door?

Thhis is because developers were buying up pig farm property and making new subdivisions, and the folks do not like having to smell pig doodoo. But, we do not have to fund it now, because there will not be any new subdivisions for many years, even after HE is gone...

Solution: Septic system. Grated drains in the stalls that allow for complete washdown of the animals and stalls to preclude that little nasty odor. Works great! And didn't cost no $Million to implement. Course with that many pigs let's hope you have decent water tables to support the wells.

They have spent how much to date studying this and the best they can come up with is lights and planting more trees?

The problem is the farms were there first.
If the people moved next to a **** hole and then complain about the smell then why should I the farmer be expected to do anything to correct the problem. Have the subdivision buy him out and develop the property using their own money.
