Well, I can see a swat with a newspaper, but a sucker punch in the face is clearly excessive--even for something as surreal as a "crime dog".
I had to read the article twice to make sure I understood the story correctly. Bus driver...just out of no where..thinks it would be funny to punch McGruff the Crime Dog while passing out fliers to kids? Really?..that passes for funny in this guys world? :eh:
Makes one wonder just what makes someone like this bus driver possesed to do something like this? Not to mention, it was an officer in that suit...so that's a Do not pass Go...do not collect 200 dollars kinda situation. Most likely will loose his job over this stupid stunt as well...and in this economy! :eek:

People think it's fun to beat up on mascots.
My daughter's b/f was mascot for the local minor league baseball team. He was always getting beat on by kids --- and adults, one of whom was this idiot drunk who picked him up and threw him over the fence. Just about knocked him out.
People are stupid.

as for the thought of beating a mascot..... it was real funny when Ace ventura did it at the end of the movie.... but assaulting a police officer will get you nothing but trouble....
