Am I being too critical or is it an insult directed toward President Bush?

The U.S. military avoided hitting Mr. Mehsud's forces in 2007 and 2008, during the Bush administration, when the Taliban leader waged a campaign of suicide bombings inside Pakistan and humiliated the Pakistani army in his tribal stronghold near the Afghan border.

Am I being too critical or is it an insult directed toward President Bush?IN this case it is a fact. The Taliban Leader in question was in dirct conflict with the other two major Taliban Leaders at the time. He wasn't striking cross border, but they were, so common sense said leave the sleeping dog alone, for now. Things have changed in Pakistan. The new government isn't as effective at wielding its military, as the resigned General/Dictator was, against the Taliban. They probably have only nominal control over the military. As for Obama, why not unleash the Predators once the open secret of US operations has been confirmed by the Chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. The Government of pakistan is already screwed, so why not turn them loose? The strikes sound good, but don't actually reduce Taliban combat effectiveness.

They need to remember that congress authorized this unanimously so some of them seem to have forgotten.
