I have not viewed this board in a while. I have made a couple comments randomly in the past months. So, I would like to inquire as I have not "been" here as of late, what (in the media and with you folks) has been going on with Iraq? I still have my close sources in and around that situation and may even have further experience there. But... I would like to see what all of you are saying about IRAQ Now. Is it bad? Chaotic? OK? Good? Please Enlighten me - what is the prevailing wisdom of the situation? What do our resident libs think of how Iraq is going? What do our resident Conservatives think?

It's been a while since I have heard a lib scream a death toll. It has been a while since Iraq was an issue to use (and abuse, for political power). Please folks, on all sides, please tell me how horrible and hopeless it is going.

Is there crow to be eaten and swallowed by some? Or have we forgotten? I think we have. Who amongst us proclaimed that Iraq would Fail undoubtedly? Further... No one is saying it will be the most amazing and successful state of our time (though with Mr. O's economy it could happen) but it does seem to be functioning as well as our government - or better. YIKES. Is Iraq "bleeding" us now? Is the Spending bill??? Will we create new jobs and save the country from unemployment by spending money on social programs.... stay tuned for next week's episode: "How twisted we F***'d ourselves! And how talented we thought we were as the gymnasts looked on ;)"

Yikes.

Hi Deuce, miss you, don't be a stranger, ya hear!

They are in a process of turning over tons of bases, FOB's, JSS's so on!

Training the ISF is still on-going!

There are still trouble spots and it's still dangerous!

BUT they (ISF) seem to be trying their best in most areas! I've seen some great success stories about the IP, IA and Swat teams!

It's really strange when you read about the capture/kill releases now! It's all about warrants being issued for arrests, interesting but it seems to be working.

There is some concern about the SOI who will not be given IA or IP positions.......what to do with them, however, they are working on it setting up schooling, small micro grants for some to start business.

GOI signed it's first agreement to pay the US government for a navy pier to be built and a sea wall. Lot's of training goin for the Navy right now and Air Force too! There are more deals coming down very soon where the GOI will pay for us to do whatever!

Over all things are good, I would say!

Check the goodnews thread, for a few minutes each day, and you'll see the releases, don't count on MSM!!!

Wow. Two years ago I would have gotten several responses from libs lecturing me on how Iraq was wrong and would only bleed us (treasure, lives, etc.).

What the heck is going on?

The news has all been about Obama for quite a while now. It looks any "war" news is about A-stan as that's the mighty O's focus. Welcome back.

Can't be true. The last time my precious New York Times reported on it (in a negative way and many months ago)... they told me that the General Betrayed us. That Iraq was a total mess. Isn't it?

Does that **** some people off? That Iraq is possibly as stable as America or any other group of western countries?

What are the crime statistics now compared to "back when"? How do New York and Chicago compare? What is the chaos that folks call a democratic republics? How does it hurt?

How's that been going? Did Mr. O make any quick decisions about A-Stan that he has had the past couple years to think about and indeed proclaimed he knew of?

Things are getting bad.

I think Hannity has many good and valid points but I think Mr. Beck has even more.
