Based on first impression, I like Shawn Johnson to win.

It will be interesting to see Julianne Hough teaming up with her boyfriend Chuck Wicks, after I thought she said that she won't be on the show this season. After, it will be interesting to see Ty Murray and Jewel compete against each other.

It was reported that Melissa Rycroft from the Bachelor will replace Nancy O'Dell on the show.

I wonder how will the replacements fare since they will be rehearsing for a few days.

It doesn't matter....I love watching the dancing and seeing who has natural talent, who works hard, seeing the improvement....and seeing moves that hubby and I might be able to work in to our own dancing.

Can't wait for it to start!

It was a good season premiere of Dancing With the Stars.

My favorite performance was Shawn Johnson and Mark. I also loved the dances by Lil' Kim/Derek, Chuck/Julianne, Steve-O/Lacey, Gilles/Cheryl, and David/Kym. I thought Woz/Karina was entertaining.

I thought Holly danced good considering she only rehearsed with Dmitri for a week. Another favorite was Melissa/Tony. I thought they danced well considering that she only had two days to rehearse.

The votes this week as well as the judges' scores will combine with next week's votes and scores for the Results Show next week. The bottom two couple will be in a dance-off before one team is eliminated.

My views of the season opener...


I know I was rooting for Shawn anyways...but damn she can dance :))
I was worried because she is a gymnast and I was worried if she would have the grace neccesary to dance...because that is the total opposite of gymnastics...I did agree with Bruno about her arms though :))

That chick from The Bachelor...well she used to be a ballerina and a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, so yeah..kinda expected her to be a pretty decent dancer....still don't like her :))

Poor Ty....I imagine Jewel talked him into doing this show so it could be something they do together....and she had to pull out. He's probably thinking "damn...now I am stuck doing this dancing thing...alone" :))

Gilles Marini suffered a separated shoulder but will still perform. Steve Wozniak was reportedly seen walking with a boot on his left foot.

Also, Steve-O said that he suffered a bad back that may force him to drop out of the competition.

It was a good episode of Dancing With the Stars.

Once again, the injury bug hits the show as Steve-O left the show two hours before the show air due to back pains. As a result, the judges have to judge Steve and Lacey's routine at dress rehearsal.

Woz suffered pain in his foot but still dance.

I loved Melissa and Tony's salsa. I also loved Shawn and Mark's dance as well. I enjoyed Ty and Chelsie's dance. He definitely improved. Other favorites include Lil' Kim/Derek, Gilles/Cheryl, Woz/Karina, and Denise/Maksim.

Belinda was eliminated from the show. I thought she was better in the dance-off than on Monday's show.

I loved the dance tribute to Hollywood musicals. In addition, I enjoyed Jewel's performance and Dmitri and Chelsie's dance.

I enjoyed the celebrity montage of them sizing up the competition, especially the battle of the Playboy centerfolds.

The Big Three of Shawn, Gilles, and Melissa danced wonderfully Monday night. I also enjoyed the performances of Lil' Kim, Ty, L.T., Chuck, David, and Steve-O. I thought Steve did good considering what happened to him. Ty continued to improved his performance.

It's my understanding that the dancers don't get to pick their own music. I had heard once that the music is distributed to the dancers randomly, but I refuse to believe that. My reason ? Anyone else think it was a "random" pairing of (Season 7) Kim Kardashian and the song "Baby Got Back" ? C'mon!

To be sure, some of the dancers really get bad choices of songs to dance to and some get great songs. It really makes a big difference.

I'll probably tune in to check things out, besides my sis is big gymnastics fan and she is talking my ear off my Shawn Johnson. It's just that there is usually some sporting event that I have to catch when the show is on.

Ha! You are correct and here is my example of why I agree with you. The season that HRH Julianne Hough got paired with Adam Corrolla (as funny as he was, the man just couldn't dance) she needed to be "retired" early. She had to finish her country album that was due to be released later that spring.

As amazing as it was to watch Shawn Johnson in the Olympics it is equally wonderful and lovely to watch her ballroom dancing. She is a national treasure!

If partners or music are picked at random, Ty Murray knows about things picked at random!

In rodeos, cowboys, except for a few PBR events, have their stock "opponent" picked at random in every event. The steers used in steer wrestling, the calf in calf or team roping, horses in bronc (bareback and saddle) riding, and except for the selected PBR events, bull riding, are selected at random. Pity those in the past who had to draw Little Yellow Jacket, Mossy Oak Destroyer, Chicken on a Chain, Bones, All In, Smokeless War Dance, I'm a Gangster, Mayor Payne, or Unabomber for the eight seconds of hell that the nasty bovine usually won.

Her departure was no great surprise. At least she went out on a good note, with her dance-off number being her highest score. I am only bummed because I love to watch Maks.

In regard to Ty Murray's improvement, that is also no surprise. Usually the athletes are the frontrunners. He is so charming.

For the judges to have handed out the 3's to Steve Wozniak was pathetic. It's not like he went out there and tripped and forgot moves and danced like he didn't care. At least the man is trying.

I agree..it is nice to at least see her dance decent at least once. I used to be all about Maks...but for some reason the past few seasons Mark has seriously grown on me!

I loved the dances by Melissa, Gilles, Lil' Kim, Shawn, and Troy. Troy continues to impress me with his improvement. I also liked David's performance. I also think that L.T.'s performance wasn't that bad.

I agree here too. I think the reason he looks so stiff is because he is in pain. It's hard to say, but clearly he is really trying. I give Lacie a lot of credit here.

BRUNO! Why oh why dear Bruno are you not able to censor yourself ?

I begrudgingly forgave him when he referred to BillyRay Cyrus' Cha Cha as "crap". He is really pushing it with Steve.

It almost seems like the judges realized they had let the "Cloris Show" go on for too long last season. Good dancers got sent home when it should have been her. However, I loved that a person her age got out there and tried. And it was funny at first. And Corky Ballas was such a treat. But because of that, I get the impression they are trying to get Steve Woz booted. I don't like that.

I watch the show to see good dancing and see those who've never danced, try. I could NEVER do it. (I proved this by buying the DWTS cardio DVD...my kids are still laughing).

Len, Carrie Ann and Bruno would do well to encourage Steve, not insult him and put him down. His fans are keeping him there, the judges would be better off being nice.

I loved the performances by Gilles/Cheryl and Shawn/Mark. I also liked the dances by Melissa and Lil' Kim. Poor TY. After improving for the past two weeks, his latest performance looked a little stiff. I hope that he won't be eliminated tomorrow.

Steve-O and his partner Lacey were eliminated. I'm sad to see him go. He did tried his best on the show.

I love the dancers from West Side Story as well as the dances with Carmen Electra. I also liked the dances during the Rascal Flatt's performance.

Next week, the celebrities will design clothes for their partners, and they will be performing two dances, including the group dance.

It was a good episode of Dancing With the Stars.

I really loved the performances by Melissa/Tony, Shawn/Mark, Ty/Chelsie, Chuck/Julianne, and Gillas/Cheyl.

It's great to see Ty dancing well after the last two weeks. I thought Eyda's costume looked lovely.

I love the group dance paying tribute to the 60's.

I don't know who would be eliminated Tuesday.

Wow did Chuck come alove last night!!! I actually think he did the best of all of them....followed closely by Shawn.

The group dance was great....I really love seeing the dancers let loose and have fun all together like that.

L.T. was the latest contestant to be eliminated. He'll be heading back to the golf course.

I enjoyed the dancing of Lacey & Dmitry during the Natasha Bedingfield. I also loved the singing by the Celtic Women and the dancing.

I also enjoyed the Burn the Floor.

As for the Pick the Pro competition, I loved the waltz of Anna and Mayo.

Melissa have to miss the show due to injuries but will remain in the competition. The Judges have to score based on their dance rehearsal like they did to Steve-O. I hope that she won't be eliminated because of the injury but, in this late stages of the game and the fact that she missed the group dance, it might be the possibility.

I loved the dances by Lil Kim, Chuck, and Gilles. I also enjoyed Ty's dance.

As for the group competition, Team Tango is definitely better than Team Mambo.

I was surprised that Chuck and Julianne was eliminated. They definitely improved in the last couple of weeks.

I loved the Robin Thicke's performances as well as the dancing during the singing.

It was a good episode of Dancing With the Stars with the five remaining celebrities doing two dances: the ballroom and Latin.

In the Ballroom Round, I enjoyed all of the dances, especially Shawn, Gilles, and Melissa.

In the Latin Round, I was impressed with Shawn, Lil' Kim, and Melissa.

Poor Ty. He was good in the Ballroom round, but he wasn't good in the Latin Round.

I think the only reason why the judges gave her all 10's is b/c they felt bad for her. I thought that dance was pretty 'basic' and boring.

I have no idea why they keep giving her high scores.....especially after criticizing her a bit....seriously from her waist up she is like wood...and that is not good in latin dances. She is too balletic (don't even get me started on her experience) and on the heel-to-toe steps balletic does NOT work.

She needs to gooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! :D

It was a good episode of Dancing With the Stars.

In the first half, I enjoyed the dancing of Melissa, Shawn, and Gilles.

In the second half, I loved the dances of Shawn and Gilles. I also loved the contestants' hometowns.

Ty was voted off. I loved watching him throughout the competition.

I enjoyed the opening performance as well as the Design-A-Dance performance.

It was Part One of the Dancing With the Stars Finale.

The three remaining couples took part in the Pasa Doble face-off. I enjoyed all three dances.

In the freestyle competition, I loved Shawn's dance while I enjoyed the other two.

I think it will be between Shawn and Gilles with Gilles winning the whole thing.

I tried to vote for Shawn on the phone, but it was kept busy. Here's my breakdown:

Okay...for a while I thought the judges were trying to sway the competition so that Gilles and Melissa would be in the finals. I felt this way because I think the show is tired of the Hough-Ballas cabal winning all of the time....they have won every season since season 3 when Cheryl and Emmitt Smith won.

But now I think they are playing Melissa and Shawn of of each other because they really don't care who the other person in the finals is....because they make no effort in hiding that they want Gilles to win.


Oh...and I want to add that if I was Gilles' wife...I would not be amused with Cheryl over sexualizing every single dance....I mean come on? A sexual Foxtrot? Really Cheryl??????


That being said...Go Shawn!!! :D

ABC's taking a pretty big risk by increasing the number of cycles for the show...Now there's going to be three per year. Taking a chance that people won't OD on it.

I would have voted for Gilles, if I'd voted, but only because when he danced his best he took my breath away. Shawn definitely improved enough to win it. Some people were saying that Gilles was the favorite because he was so good all season long, but it isn't how good you are at the beginning of the competition, it is how good you are at the end of it -- and Shawn improved dramatically. Her last dances were absolutely her best and worthy of the trophy.

I had to laugh a little, though, when I heard her say how much she's changed as a person over the course of the competition. She's 17 years old! You change as a person every 5 minutes at that age!!! :))

Have to wait until Fall for the next season...I suggest all fans go out and take dancing lessons! Woot!
