Tremendous pain nothing helps!! Surgery not until March because Kaiser is a cheaper insurance. He has a tron ligament on the side of his knee.

I start new job 2/9/2009 training class I won't be on the phone until following Monday. If I could have a commission and it will be high, I could pay for insurance for him so his operation could be sooner!!

The first check is gone before I get it.

First checks always are, aren't they?

I'm praying for your son.

Damned insurance companies are killing us with their "bottom line" -- since when does human health equal mega profits for somebody you don't even know?

Anyway, I'm praying for pain reduction, speeding up the date of that surgery, and, best of all, HEALING by the Word of the LORD himself so that, by the time "science" gets around to fixing the problem, there won't be a problem left to fix.

Hang in there, dear one.

I know it bites hardest when it's one of your kids hurting -- but this will pass in time. The LORD's good time. Just as soon as you and yours have learned whatever it is He wants you to learn in this Faith 101 course we've got to take before we can graduate. Toughest course in the known universe, Faith 101, but we've got to get through it to graduate into the Kingdom of the LORD and get a new job in the New World to Come.

Good, the therapy will be important, it was for darlene. her problem was they started the therapy the day after the surgery and that was just too soon for her. That night we wound up at the ER for pain relief after that therapy.

How is his pain?

Itsrea,

Son lives in Woodland, CA that is why surgery in Sacramento. His insurance would not cover a hospital closer.

Not long until the 27th.

When I had my therapy same operation, they had the mechanism linked to a computer, it was too fast!! I took my leg out, didn't go to therapy any more, physician and I worked out therapy in the swimming pool and walking daily my own pace.

Joann and Jamie staying home. More convenient than at hospital. Only takes a couple hours as out patient.

If I hear any more news I will let everyone know.

Thanks for encouragement and prayers.

Pray for oldest son and Joann. An attack from woman at work towards Joann. I told them to ignore her since nothing she says is true. Joann is very talented and has done so much for all of us. I have never seen Gary so content!! He has his reason to be.

Thanks

Yeah.

Have been, too.

I wish I understood why people are driven to be so blasted NASTY MEAN to others. It's the belief that a couple of generations of being raised on 'rights' instead of responsibilities.. some people think if they are feeling ugly they have a right to feel that way, and so a right to try to make others feel that way...

You have my prayers too doodle.

Copied and pasted from Jwils thread...

itsrea,

Very wise suggestion!!

Everyone needs to relax and breathe fresh air!! We miss it when we don't go to El Dorado Park here, sometimes it does happen tho. Today it was warm then it turned icy cold, unusual for Long Beach.
I have had an infection for two week, nearly over it, I managed to walk some, tomorrow more, I only missed four or five days walking.
After Sunday, back to the exercise program.

A month ago I suggested to Jeff and Darlene to take a break from all the pressure, they need it. I was thinking about hospice or something similar.

itsrea,

How are you? Post me.

CarleneI'm hanging in there Carlene, thanks for asking.

Where do you walk in Long Beach? I had to give it up when I lived there... we never could find a place where I wasn't accosted by some weirdo.

doodle5

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and encouragement!!

itsrea,

We walk in the Nature center or the third park of El Dorado Park. No weirdos, we don't go on the weekends instead there is a park across form Long Beach City College. Long Beach has more parks and Libraries than any place we have seen!!

Thanks also to Rhet and jwl.

Our oldest son saw the physician yesterday and they took the a stress test, everything is great.

We have to explain some things to Joann at times. When I receive my first paycheck, I will pay for her a professional driving school, one suggested by AAA, they also have discounts. I want her in the best!!

The surgery is the 27th, Summerhouse will drive him to and back home.

Then we know where and how to pray. Interviews, EKG and blood panel.

Three days and counting down to surgery. Lay down that prayer barrage to soften up the ground for the surgical teams to go in and fix the problem better than old Solomon with all his wisdom could have done.

Our son had an extremely serious operation on his knee, found out from him yesterday. If I had known that I would have gone a day or two before his surgery. I could have lifted some of the pressure off of him. I could have taken Joann to the doctor and helped her with the toddler and cooked so she could rest more.

Update: Gary has two sets of pain medication one for am another one for pm. Exercising the knee very slowly! Walking some. He had major repair behind the knee cap and other repairs. Mine was not that serious only tear.

Mailed him some dates and books to the toddler today.

I am so proud of all of them and how they handle their problems.

I start new job 2/9/2009 training class I won't be on the phone until following Monday. If I could have a commission and it will be high, I could pay for insurance for him so his operation could be sooner!!

The first check is gone before I get it.

Carlene

Carlene,

I apologize profusely for not getting to this thread sooner. Work has just been heavy.

I hope that things are progressing well with your son. If not then I will say a prayer for him, your daughter-in-law and baby at Mass this Sunday.

I always keep you and your family in my prayers so hopefully they have been helping. You should see the list of people on the list. I usually say them after Holy Communion. That is when I have the most time.

Anyway God bless you and your family and hope all is well. Things here are hectic as usually but that is a good hectic.

Son better today!! Sounded better, took walk around the complex where they live once! Tomorrow twice progressing better now.

Jamie is weened, she needed this called independence. I will buy her a cup, she can only drink goats milk and soy.

I would prefer to see them when everyone is well and we can really treat the whole family out to eat and the Redwoods. Our younger son will meet us there and take middle son.

Thanks again

I ****tered the cartlidge in both knees doing hard arobics on a cement foundation (didn't know it wasn't a raised foundation) when I was 38... started just sore, ended in a wheel chair... we don't even breath without our knees.. they balance us, we shift with them, turn over in bed with them, even use them on the toilet.. I'm telling you that NOTHING you do doesn't require your knees.. so when they're messed up so are we... recovery is not easy Carlene, but I'm sure glad they did the surgery and that he is already up and around... I hope the need for pain medication will back off real fast too...

you all remain in my prayers :)

The angle of your shoes/insoles effects your knees. See a pediatrist.

Hyaluronic acid builds and replenishes cartledge and is a youthafier.
My mother takes walks now. Before she got on HA she could barely make it to the car. Google it and you will see Japanese in their 90's that act like 50 yr olds. Heavy HA diet

Pain will probably subside little by little Friday. The more he can use it the better. I explained to him he had major surgery, pain will not go away until he uses it more more.

I was raised around an excellent diagnostician when small, so I think like a doctor. Didn't have to take kids a lot to doctor when small, the process of elimination and common sense. Now I go to mayo clinic.com.

Thanks for prayers .

I have mostly comforted him and made him realize this is only short term not for life. Every week will be better and better.

Carlene:hug: Carlene  I honestly do not know which is worse.. being the mom of a hurting child or being the mom of a hurting adult... you can only physically comfort the child because expanations aren't understood, but attempting to comfort the adult-child is sometimes a lot harder... or so it seems to me - wanting to pick up my son and rock him when he almost died a year ago and instead staying where I was as the Lord told me to do was theee hardest thing I've ever had to do.

you all remain in my prayers...

Fortunately he and I are close and I have helped him through a lot of crises in his life.

He listens to me and especially today and last week, I ask him questions like a doctor would as to how much pain, when it hurts and what time of day he takes his medication. The more he uses the knee however slow the better. He sounded better.

I comfort my sons and if they need help they call me, I never have pushed I hate that. There are times to comfort and times for a listening ear.

I may send him a DVD ONE CAN WATCH DVD so long.

Thanks to everyone!!

It helps me that I was highly trained to be a doctor when small!! That thinking kicks in and I say in my heart" Doctos can do so much and no more!! "at that point I pray as never before and place son or sons in the hand of God and at the foot of the cross. Because of this God watched over Gary in a special way and literally carried him by His power the 27th to his apartment. All is well now, healing.

I always found the first trimester the worst.

But, you know what the Old Wives Club claims: fatique in the first 4 is a sure sign of a boy to come.

Your family knows the value of hard work and eating "by the sweat of your brow." True Americanism, that is. I pray for easier prosperity and victory for your loved ones. And for that precious child the LORD is busy creating.

Just before Jaimie's 2nd birthday!

I'm so excited, I could bust a gusset!

May the LORD protect and deliver -- literally. I soooooo pray Joane has a much easier time in November than she had with #1.

Do they know if it's boys or girls or one of each, yet?
