The more educated and intelligent a person is, the more likely they are to lean in a liberal direction. Why is that true? Alexander

That may be a figment of your imagination instead of any real data to prove it. Some say since more college graduates vote Democratic then that may be a sign or since more blue states are in the Northeast than in the South but maybe each person just decides what issues are more important to them and votes accordingly.

Most educated intelligent liberals are elitists, and do not want to identify with mainstream conservative Americans.

Edit to add: Perhaps you are over estimating their intelligence, and under estimating their arrogance.

.... Liberals just don't need to be told what to think....

Obviously.

you mean more brainwashed? yes I agree.Liberals are more likely to become Conservatives AFTER they grow up.Dennis Miller and Micheal Savage to name just two off the top of my head.

Liberalism is based on emotions only and good intentions. It requires no real thinking.

I have a calculus and a statistics exam on the same day so I studied until 3am last night to prepare. Then I woke up at 7am this morning to go to work and stand behind a theater cafe stand for 9 hours. Then while I'm there I get called to three different places and got yelled at by guests because I could not be in three places at once. Now you’re calling me an elitist because I work hard for a good education. Meanwhile Hannity calls me a loser because I can't afford to go to the store for food much less buy a dozen roses for my girl friend.

As for the Rush Limbaugh, I heard him say you learn more from one day from his show than from an entire semester of college. I first laughed then realized he probable wasn't. The reality of the matter is all of these shows are for entertainment only. They are not the news and they don't try to be. They are nothing but celebrities and I think they should be reminded of that.

You must love hosts like Olberman , Matthews, Madow , they are Stalinists, which is what the extreme left wing is indoctrinating in the colleges and schools.

Call Sean up and ask him to buy a dozen roses for your girlfriend.

So you're a college student.

I got news for you kid, you're not being educated, you're being indoctrinated.

Someday, when you grow up and start living in the real world, you will begin to see the truth...if you're one of the lucky ones.

:)) Liberalism is based on emotion rather than fact. Liberalism is like a professor of theory. I perfer where the rubber hits the road, if you know what I mean. The exit is down the hall and to the left......... :))

If anything, college teaches you to do research on your own. Information isn't just served to like high school does. Every time I took, a more in depth U.S. history course the more time I spent in the microfilm lab and writing reports about what I found. My woman's history class was one of the more intense yet it revealed facts that Hannity does not want you to know. Is there some reason you want to put forward why Sean does not want us to know something?

I don't want 12-hour workdays with no bathroom breaks. I don't want another triangle fire to happen. However, if we go to the free market Hannity wants then this history will be doomed to repeat itself.
Interestingly enough, an argument the union uses.. However.... there are now laws that prevent such abuse of employees, there are lawyers who would LOVE to take such a case before a jury, it would put that company in a financial tailspin if they treated their employees badly by today's standards!! and even without a union, in many many companies. Im callin out your misrepresentation of todays "free" market.. its not so free, and it is regulated by about Two gigazillion laws. Empty hyperbole. Oh, and you may want to make sure, by cross referencing other sources, the history that is being funneled to you is altogether accurate...

For my last history requirement for my history is micro economy and I'm finding my reading to be very interesting. The book says that a pure capitalism does not work. It says that without a certain amount of regulation there can be the same effects as communism. There is no labor laws in pure capitalism and without monopoly laws a business can take advantage of its consumers. Just imagine what a customer service call would be like if AT&T put all other phone companies out of business. And before you go off in a tangent, it also tells the effects of to much regulation. It does tell of the results of New York’s rent control laws.
For a final thought, I'm sure Hannity does not want the restrictions on the meat companies to be lifted. After all I am sure he feels safer knowing there is someone watching what is going into his good quality steaks.

Read that stuff you wrote and show me where that is happening any where.. you are talking theories here, not day to day reality.. which is interesting because i always thought that liberals live in a world created in their own paranoia, populated by dreams of what they imagine, and when confronted by "what IS" dissasemble. :))
Point out when Hannity called for complete dereg of every thing.
I would like a list of that for my research please, since you can footnote.... thanks!

That's pretty rough....for Act II, try working the midnight to 8AM shift seven days a week, with a few extra 4 hour overtimes thrown in for good measure. Then work a farm during the day.

I wasn't hinting at your personal elitism because of anything to do with your job or trying to work through college. The reference was to your disdain for conservatives, who only get their opinions directly from Rush, Sean, etc. But *liberals* ... "Liberals are not told to be liberals they just form an opinion based on the information they discovered on their own."

Reeeeeally now? From what I've seen, a lot more people lean left because it's more "cool" or "hip" or whatever the current term is for the "in" crowd, or because that's what the liberals in academia feed them. Not because of anything they discovered on their own.

As they say...liberal while learning, conservative while earning.

Why is it that you are using a strawman and a sweeping generalization?

Could it be that you're definition of educated has been influenced by those who indoctrinate?

Well I go to a strong conservative college in a strong conservative state. Most of my friends are conservative but are slowly turning more and more liberal from year to year. But, if you really want to see conservatism at its best, you should take a look at Louisiana. The reason why conservatives don't like big government is because they don't trust their own party. Funny how all the FEMA money just disappeared as soon as it touched the hands of republicans.

Oh Please, I worked for FEMA during Hurricane Katrina and I seen first hand how the people in LA cannot do anything without gov assistance. It was rediculous the amount of money that was being handed out to the consiuants of LA in comparison to AL, TX, FL, MS. I would say 99.99999999 percent of my calls and cases were from LA (New Orleans) and they all wanted to know when they were getting MORE money because they can't get there lives restarted on the 26,000 that the federal gov just handed to them for there losses. Not to mention these people were getting medicaid, welfare benifits on top of that (check, food stamps) and FREE HOUSING for six months. I can't tell you how much damage was caused by hotels being destroyed by people who could care less about hospitality that was bestowed upon them, NO all they kept saying was this was OWED to them and they deserved it. THAT my friend is when I turned, NOT having any heart whatsoever for welfare recieptants and told them to get a job, it is not the FED's responsiblity to take care of you and your 5 kids. You know who ened up paying for all that, THE TAXPAYER, ME and every other American who pays taxes and does what is right. So Republican's did not make the money dissappear, try the welfare reciepiants that kept trashing hotels, hotels that were paid out unneccessarily because people would register in 2 or 3 hotels and make money by renting one of the hotels rooms to friends and family, and taking the money for themselves, damages to hotels because of these people. The cost of moving a camper from Cumberland MD, to Orleans Perish is NOT cheap, and who moves those trailers, CONTRACTORS!!! COST MONEY, sorry for the LONG post, but I get annoyed
