So, Saturday night after our Christmas dinner I took the Scout Platoon out for a drink or two...
We ended up at a gentleman's club and things were going very well until some moron decided to start an issue with one of the men.
A fight ensued, we settled it. I got the bill today...$1235.67
It was a good night...:D

I would rather have a hard-charging, aggressive platoon over a sissified reinforced company any day. Far more will be accomplished.

Well, she knows, but her dissatisfaction with the whole thing I understand. After all she is my wife. I would rather she be upset with me over this then hide it from her, we have been at this too long for me to start dodging reality now.
Its all good, she has no clue about her Christmas Present yet, and I have been working on this one for over a year, so it should be "All Good"!

I was extremely proud of the way they all put the team together, the poor moron and his pals really did not have a clue what they had started..:D
If you are going to start a fight with a couple of guys that have "high and tight" hair cuts, you might just want to scope the environment out a bit.

While I was with the 2/325th Italy, were were sitting in Blue Angel Restaurant, the local hangout for American kids studying over there. Well we were hitting it off very well with a couple young American college students when their Italian boyfriends showed up. A big dust up started and we walked away the better of it. Monday we were called into the headshed by Top. Seems one of the guys father was a big shot in the Itanlian govt. Top wasnt to happy.
I wonder who you would rather face? ****ed off 1st Sgt or wife? In my case I would have happily gone home to a ****ed wife over Top, backed up by the MP's.

LoL...reminds me of a funny story...
I had just finished Infantry OSUT and had just finished putting together my OCS paperwork/medical physical just as I was recovering from a case of walking Pnemonia.
I get a call to go see Top. He looks a bit upset and tells me blood work came up funny and to go down to a "STD" clinic. I'm totally in the dark with the acronym, so I head down from Harmony Church to the clinic at main post. I get up to the building and see that STD was for Sex Transmitted D's. Yikes.
I took another test and found out that it was a false positive cause by the pnemonia. (and, yes, I was single at the time.)

Alas, it's just trip down memory Lane. I was at C-9-2 in late 86.
Most of the stuff was torn down. 1st ITB took over the Starship barracks over at Sand Hill. 2nd ITB went to the Regimental unit system in 87 and I think they phase out the area out as the 90s came in.
Here you go. Pics of the old wwII era barracks.

From what I've heard, the new Armor training center is now going to based at Harmony Church in the next few years.

Damn those pics begin back good and bad memories. Almost wanted to cry at the shape of disrepair of a place I called home for 15weeks.

I wonder if the Hidden Door is still open.

I was C-6-1 in late 85, Harmony Church was still around then. I enjoyed the "no firewatch" of the Sand Hilton.
I ****ed off Top at my first regular duty station on the first day. Hell within 3 minutes of me entering the CP he knew he hated me.
I saw an Arkansas Razorback mirror on the wall and without thinking, I said "Arkansas?!?, Who in the Hell is from Arkansas?!?"
He came flying out of his office demanding to know who the shifferbrains is that just said that, I said "I did". He said "And just where the hell are you from?"
Dallas.
It was one of those laughing moments, only Top wasn't in a laughing mood.

Yes, it has a taken almost a year to put together the plans for the house we are going to build, she knows I have been up to something but she will get a copy of the plans in her stocking for christmas and see the contractors the first week of January starting work. It has been a long time comming, she deserves a nice home, the one we are in now came with the property, its a good enough house, but it is old and small.

That reminds me of my first two tours as a young naval officer. I was prior enlisted and went to Auburn Unversity for my commission. War Eagle!
My first Senior Chief was from Tuscaloosa, Alabama and lived and died for the "Crimson Tide" from UA.
My next assignment was just as pleasant. My new Senior Chief was from Athens, Georgia, a huge UGA fan, and his favorite expression was "How 'bout them Dawgs!"
I couldn't win!
Then I went to shore duty. Where did the Navy send me? Montgomery, Alabama for recruiting duty. At least I was surrounded by friendlies!

How many guys are in your platoon? In an Infantry platoon, that would split about 35 ways for a total of about $35 a head.
But for an Infantry Scout Platoon it would only split about 25 ways for a total of about $50 a head.
Apologies if the numbers aren't 100%, it's been a few years.
Sounds like a good time was had by all, and what's a few extra dollars for the sake of entertainment value?
